Fraud and Scam Attempts: Our Tips for Better Identifying Misleading Ads
TotalEnergies is informed of uses of its name, name of its entities or identity of its employees, for fraudulent purposes.
These frauds may in particular concern:
- commercial offers, such as false material orders, made by alleged employees of our entities in charge of purchasing;
- bogus job or service offers;
- false financial investments with very attractive returns, particularly in relation to renewable energies;
- fictitious advice, invitations or offers to purchase TotalEnergies shares at a reduced price, in particular via social network accounts, unsolicited telephone calls, e-mails or fraudulent websites;
- false commercial offers related to the supply of energy or fuel cards.
We take these situations very seriously and implement all possible measures to identify and stop this fraud. Whilst we implement these measures, you are equally responsible for your safety and must always remain vigilant. To help you with this, we have provided below some helpful tips to keep in mind;:
- Exercise the greatest vigilance before entering into any contract or other commitment, particularly by checking domain names (email address or website), social network accounts or telephone number used, which are deliberately misleading.
- Check the quality of the communication - misspelling, poor punctuation and bad grammar are common signs of bogus emails or text messages.
- If the phishing email is received using the Gmail.com domain, please report abuse via the link: https://support.google.com/mail/contact/abuse.
- If the phishing email is received originating from an the outlook.com, Hotmail, Live or MSN account, please report them by emailing [email protected].
