TOTAL NIGERIA PLC SEND’S FORTH FRANCOIS BOUSSAGOL AND WELCOMES NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR, MR. ALEXIS VOVK

A send-forth party and welcome cocktail was held in honour of Mr. Francois Boussagol, the out-going Managing Director, Total Nigeria Plc, and his successor, Mr. Alexis Vovk respectively on September 3, 2013 at the grand Oriental Hotel, Lagos. This auspicious occasion was well attended by members of the Board of Directors, customers, company stakeholders, staff, and other invited guests.

Mr. Boussagol expressed deep gratitude to staff, management and key stakeholders for their immense contribution to the company’s success and growth in these past years while enjoining their continued support to the new Managing Director. Thereafter, Mr. Alexis Vovk was formally introduced amidst cheers and well wishes by the distinguished audience as he was handed the key of office by his predecessor. It is worthy to mention that it was a great honour to have the presence of the Chairman, Mr. Momar Nguer, at this laudable event. He recognized and appreciated the many achievements of the company under the leadership of Francois Boussagol.

Amongst the Tributes to Francois Boussagol were those of Engr. Chibeze Anyafulu on behalf of the Executive Committee and Mr. Innocent Aimiator for Senior Managers. The General Manager (HSEQ) gave the citation of Francois Boussagol noting that he started his career in theGroup 26 years ago as a Sales Representative in Limoges. He also highlighted how his dynamic leadership was instrumental in reinforcing the company’s position as leader in the Downstream Oil & Gas industry.

Key highlights of the event include “Francois Boussagol’s Achievements’ Gallery” presentation which illustrated his accomplishments accross the various business segments. These includes the successful completion of the Truck Drivers training School and Inspection Center, Ibadan which was designed to provide an ideal environment for comprehensive training of truck drivers; diversification of the SFS section of the business to improve revenue and value offerings to customers via the launch of “Awango by Total”, “Mobile Money”, and Etisalat mini experience centers in Total service stations; and upgrade of the IT infrastructure via VISION standalone and Harmonie projects.

The Head office and all three territories of the subsidiary presented gifts to the outgoing MD which included a bronze statue of him in Nigerian traditional attire.
